What has your career path looked like leading up to DH?
I went to SFCC for graphic design and while I was taking classes, I realized I love front end web development. During my second year at the Falls, I became the student liaison for AAF Spokane (American Advertising Federation) and completed an internship doing web development at Zipline. Shortly after graduating from the Falls, I became the Executive Director for AAF and got a job as a web developer. Now, I’m here!
So, why DH?
My time as the Executive Director of AAF Spokane has helped me build the skills I need to excel in this fast-paced and exciting environment. My knowledge of design and development is the perfect combination for this position – it gives me the unique ability to manage, and understand what I’m managing. I also met a few DHers through my AAF involvement, and the culture seemed like a really good fit and a place where I would want to be.
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.
I’m a serial crafter! I love crafting, but I’m always jumping from one project to the next. I’ve experimented with painting, drawing, paper crafts and crochet, and lately I’ve been experimenting with embroidery. I love the chance to be creative through different mediums. Who knows what I’ll do next!
If you could live anywhere in the world for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Here! I love Spokane—it feels small yet big. You have mountains, city life, countryside, and it’s all accessible. Spokane has everything that I need.
